This paper focuses on the role of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Water Management Department (WMD) and public for the prevention of flood disasters in Sindh. It has been observed that floods disasters are the common disaster in all over the world, although in the Pakistan, the province of Sindh has historically suffered from natural and man-made disasters. Drought, earthquakes, coastal area, epidemics, sea interruption etc. are caused of the flood disaster. During the flood disaster the heavy rains and cyclones increase the risk factors. In this paper flood disaster has been focused, so it could be said that all floods are similar, just some develop slowly and some develop rapidly without showing any sign or identification of rain. Flash flood develop in just few minutes without showing signs of rainwater but most common type of the flood occurs when water over flow from the river or stream as a result of the heavy rain or melting of ice exceeds from the designed capacity of pipes and underground drainage system. The research has also done their best to develop the management plan for flood disaster prevention. Now a day there is big focus on the natural disaster and many researches has given to prevent the lives but we have given the Risk Mitigation, Monitoring and Management (RMMM) Plan. This plan has been developed for prevention of flood disaster in Sindh.
